Truck plows into heard of cattle

EVANDER – A truck coming from Brendan Village and was travelling on the Brendan Village road towards Secunda, plowed through a heard of cattle this morning.

Insp Jenneth Geel, Insp Jabulani Nyawena and volunteer Willie Joythe of the Highveld Ridge SPCA, rushed to the scene to assist the injured animals.

Many of the cattle were humanely euthanised.

Police are on the scene and the road is being cleared, but remains open.
