Lt Nhlabathi confirmed that a murder case has been opened

Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, confirmed to the Standerton Advertiser that the suspects involved in the shooting of a provincial traffic officer, were aprehended near Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, moments ago.

They apparently fled the scene in a black Jeep, registration: EB123L (Lesotho) moments after the officer was shot


 

A traffic officer was gunned down on the Vrede Road earlier today.

According to Lt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, the traffic officer died on the scene.

“He was shot three times in the chest,” he said.

Lt Nhlabathi confirmed that a murder case has been opened.

He said the suspects, who were travelling in a black Jeep, registration: EB123L, fled after the incident.

The name of the officer cannot be published until his next of kin have been notified of his death.
