Thulani slowly recovers after electrical shock

AfriForum has offered to help Ms Shongwe to lay a charge against the Lekwa Municipality

Seven-year-old Thulani Shongwe’s condition at the Witbank Hospital is slowly improving.

His mother, Ms Thobile Shongwe, confirmed it, but said his left arm is still not looking good.

He sustained serious injuries after he was exposed to electrical cables, which caused a blackout in the area.

He was playing with a ball with his friend and eldest brother on Tembe Street in Ext 2 and the ball landed in an open transformer and he went to take it out.

“The left side of his body sustained severe burn wounds, especially his arm,” Ms Shongwe said.

According to Ms Shongwe, they have not heard from the municipality since the incident.
