eMBALENHLE – About a month after her 21-year-old son went missing in Durban, Ms Sikhosana still believes her son will come home alive.
She said the pain of having a missing child, is unbearable.
Bongani Sikhosana, a Grade 12 pupil from Kiriyatswane Secondary School, was last seen on 30 July in a hotel in Durban where he had gone on a matric farewell holiday with his other 120 school mates.
According to his mother, the hotel’s CCTV footage shows Bongani leaving the hotel at about 5.45pm.
She said he apparently did not tell anyone where he was going and he never returned.
His cell phone has been off since then and a missing person’s case was opened at the Durban Police Station.
Ms Sikhosana is struggling to cope.
“I think about my child day in and day out and wonder whether he has something to eat or whether he is safe.
“Oh my God, where is my child?” Ms Sikhosana cried out loud and could not carry on with the interview.
She is concerned that the Kiriyatswane Secondary School and the Department of Education are not showing her any support.
Bongani was last seen wearing a blue T-shirt, black Jeans and black tekkies.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts, must contact the Durban Central Police at 031 325 4456.
