Lapas go up in flames

The firefighters confirmed that the cause of the fire is unknown

A lapa burnt to the ground in Meyerville recently and the cause is still unknown.

According to the Department of Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management, no one was injured in the blaze.

They said there was no one at the premises upon their arrival and as a result they jumped over a fence to gain entry.

Another lapa went up in flames in Charl Cilliers Street on 5 September.

It is suspected that a spark from a grinder started the fire since contractors worked near the area.

Firefighters managed to extinguish the fire before more damage could be caused.

No one was injured in the incident.
