Police want to restore the trust of the community

SECUNDA – Police arrested 30 suspects for various crimes during Operation Thunderstorm from 15 to 18 September.

The operation was aimed at reducing crime in the area, increasing police visibility and restoring the community’s trust in the police.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said 15 suspects were arrested for drinking in public, 13 for drugs and one was fined for driving without a driver’s licence.

He said the arrests were made with the help of all the cluster police stations and units, Ermelo and Standerton Police Stations and Vehicle Identification Services.

“We are committed as police in making the environment safer for our community.

“We thank all our colleagues for helping us to help our community and we will do more similar operations to fight crime in the area.”
