Man survives gun shot

Police are calling on residents to help recover illegal firearms.

eMBALENHLE – A resident narrowly escaped death after unknown men stormed into his house and fired shots at him in Extension 26.

It is alleged that he was with three friends when the men entered the house.

He was shot in the shoulder.

Police said his friends managed to fight back and confiscated a gun however, the suspects fled the scene.

In another incident, unknown men fired shot in a house in Extension 12.

No one was injured.

Capt Magonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said no one has yet been arrested in both incidents.

He said the police are concerned about the two incidents, because illegal firearms were used.

“If there are guns in the hands of criminals, many lives are at danger.

“We are hard at work to fight this type of crime, however we cannot do it alone and need residents’ help.”
