Mr Alexander Mohoebi, Ms Palesa Ditabane and Mr Tshepo Masiheleo who were arrested in connection with the murder of Mr Bongani Nkumba, a traffic officer, were denied bail.
They appeared again in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 23 September and the case was postponed to 28 October.
The Police and Prisons Civil Rights Union (Popcru) members came out in their numbers and picketed outside court, saying the suspects must not be granted bail.
The Popcru members vowed that they will follow the case until the sentencing.
The three suspects first appeared in court in Ladybrand in the Free State on 8 August and then made an appearance in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 10 August.
