A 38-year-old man allegedly raped a 4-year-old girl in Mahala Park recently.
According to the Standerton Police, the man and the little girl live in the same neighbourhood and the man allegedly took the girl to his house.
Apparently some children saw him committing the crime and told her family.
It is alleged that she came home crying and told her family the same story as the other children when she was asked what was wrong.
The family reported the matter to the police and took her to the Standerton Hospital for medical attention.
The suspect was arrested and appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 29 September.
The Standerton Police are investigating the case.
