A woman was rushed to the Standerton Hospital on 18 September after her husband allegedly stabbed her in the chest.
Her identity can not be revealed in order to protect a child.
According to the police, her child informed them about the incident after it occurred and they found her on the floor bleeding upon arrival.
They said the alleged assailant was nowhere to be found.
The police confirmed that she was not in a good condition and could not speak and no information about the cause of the fight could be established.
They found the knife that was used in the stabbing.
A case of assault with intent to cause grievous bodily harm has been opened, but no arrests have been made.
The Sakhile Police are investigating the case.
