
eMBALENHLE – The grim rise in violent crime and murder is a serious concern.
Over the weekend alone, three men were stabbed and killed in separate incidents.
According to the police, the first incident involved a 22-year-old man who was killed by an 18-year-old boy in Extension 15.
It is alleged that the suspect had an argument with the girlfriend of the deceased.
The deceased allegedly intervened to find out what happening and the suspect got angry and stabbed him to death.
The suspect was arrested and remains in custody.
In another incident, the body of a man with stab wounds in the chest was found in Extension 21.
The police said preliminary investigations revealed that the last person the deceased was with, was his girlfriend.
Capt Mgonseni Nkosi, police spokesman, said the police are still looking for the girlfriend who might have information that could lead to an arrest.
He said in another incident, the body of a 21-year-old man was found with multiple stab wounds in Extension 2 on Saturday, 2 October.
Nobody has been arrested in the last two murders.
