Thieves fled with an undisclosed amount of money after robbing an Absa ATM in Morgenzon.
According to the Morgenzon Police, the incident occurred at the Shell Garage in the early hours of Saturday, 8 October.
“A cutting torch was used to access the money inside the ATM,” Const Melumuzi Nzimande, communications officer at the Morgenzon Police, said.
According to him, they have not made any arrests thus far.
He said the employees at the garage knock-off at 11pm, so nobody witnessed the crime.
This is the second Absa ATM that has been robbed in less than month in the Lekwa Municipality.
The Morgenzon Police said they are hard at work looking for leads.
