BETHAL – The police received a call on Monday, 3 October about theft from a vehicle that occurred at Sasol Garage in Eeufees Street.
The two police officers, Const Dumisani Magagula and Const Kenneth Maseko responded and on arrival found a 70-year-old man who complained about theft from his vehicle.
“I filled my car with petrol and afterwards parked my vehicle at the garage to buy something from the shop.
“When I returned, I noticed two men at my car.
“One was inside the car.
“They noticed that I was on my way back and ran away with my two cell phones.
“I quickly phoned the police to report the theft,” said the complainant.
The man showed the police in which direction the two alleged thieves had fled.
The police drove in that direction and arrested two men that were recognised by the victim.“The two suspects, Messrs Brian Mayisela and Khabathi Masilela, were arrested just after committing the offence and were detained at Bethal SAPS cells for theft out of a motor vehicle.
“They appeared in Bethal Magistrate’s Court and the outcome of the case has not yet been finalised,” said Const Thomas Mogadime, the communications officer at Bethal Poilce.
“As concerned police officers, we are determined to serve the country and protect the inhabitants of this country, and their properties, with pride and dignity and will not tolerate criminals to rule in this town and the country as a whole.
“We will do our best to ensure that everyone feels safe at all times, especially in our policing areas.”
