Mr Petros Nhlapo died at the Standerton Hospital on 11 October after unknown people allegedly attacked him on 10 October.
According to the deceased’s family, Mr Nhlapo left home early Monday morning going to collect his pension grant.
The police suspect that while he was on his way, he was assaulted and left for dead.
A passerby saw him lying on the ground and called the ambulance.
According to the police, they were informed about his passing a day after the incident occurred.
