EVANDER – Locals want to know why the state burn old furniture instead of giving it to organisations such as orphanages.
This was after officials from the Department of Justice and Constitutional Development were seen burning furniture on Friday, 7 October.
“You could see that the furniture was still usable,” said a witness.
Evander Magistrate’s Court was contacted for comment and referred the newspaper to the regional spokesman, Adv Nkosi, who referred the paper to the national spokesman, Adv Mthunzi Mhaga.
He did not comment at time of going to the press.
