Police arrest drug dealers

The suspects were arrested for many offences, including being in possession of drugs, dealing in drugs and selling liquor without a license.

eMZINONI – Seven people were arrested for drug-related crimes during Thunder Storm Operation recently.

They were arrested for a variety of offences, including being in possession of drugs, dealing with drugs and selling liquor without a license.

Police said the operation was aimed at tackling drug-related crimes in the area.

In a separate incident, a suspect was arrested for being in possession of dagga worth R600 and for planting dagga in his yard.

Const Cynthia Mtshweni, police spokesman, said the police received a tip off from a resident.

She said the police aim at dealing with the issue of drugs in the area.

“Drug dealing is damaging our communities and generates crime, disorder and anti-social behaviour.

“I am calling on residents to come forward with any information about who is dealing in drugs or is committing crime in their area.”
