Thulani back at home after near electrocution incident

She said they are happy to have him back home, however things have changed.

Thulani Shongwe, a seven-year-old boy who sustained serious injuries after he was exposed to electrical cables on 5 August, is back at home with his family after spending about two months in hospitals.

According to Ms Thobile Shongwe, Thulani’s mother, her son is back at school as well.

She said they are happy to have him back home, however things have changed.

“He has to use his right hand for writing and eating now, because his left arm and hand sustained serious injuries,” Ms Shongwe also said.

Thulani is left-handed, but his thumb and index finger do not work anymore and as a result he can not use his left hand. According to Ms

Shongwe, her son is struggling to use his right hand because he spills every time he tries to feed himself.
