Murder case postponed for High Court date

The late Mr Bongani Nkumba’s murder case was postponed to 2 December for a High Court date.

The three suspects namely Mr Alexander Mohoebi, Mr Tshepo Masiheleo and Ms Palesa Ditabane, who are still in police custody, made an appearance at the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 17 November.

They face murder, possession of an unlicensed firearm and theft of state property charges.

The suspects were apprehended near Maseru, the capital of Lesotho, a few hours after Nkumba was gunned down on 5 August.

They first appeared in court in Ladybrand in the Free State on 8 August before appearing in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 10 August.

Mr Nkumba, a traffic officer who was on duty when the incident occurred, died on the scene.

He was shot three times in the chest.
