eMBALENHLE – Only three days into the 16 days of activism Campaign of No Violence Against Women and Children, a 60-year-old woman was allegedly raped by her neighbour in Extension 19.
According to the police, she was sleeping alone in her house when she heard a knock on the door at about midnight.
She thought it was her grandson who stays in the back room and she opened the door.
To her surprise, she saw her neighbour who is in his early 20’s.
He pushed her to the floor and allegedly raped her in the kitchen.
The suspect further instructed the victim to go to her bedroom where he raped her again .
Capt Magonseni Nkosi said no one was arrested and police are still trying to locate the suspect as he is currently not home.
