Police seize stolen goods

Suspects will re-appear in Bethal Magistrate's Court in January.

eMZINONI – Goods worth more than R60 000 that were stolen from suspects’ homes in Extension 2 and 4 four, were recovered after the police had received a tip off from residents.

Among the seized property were fans, televisions and sound systems.

Police said they received a tip off that a vehicle was transporting suspected stolen goods.

They arrested the driver of the vehicle, but the other suspects fled the scene.

The vehicle was also seized.

Const Cynthia Mtsweni, police spokesman, said upon investigation the suspect confessed and revealed the names of the co-accused and they whereabouts.

They were also arrested.

The four people appeared in the Bethal Magistrate’s Court and were released on bail.

Messrs Matthew Mashaba, Muzi Nkosi, Siyabonga Shabangu and Amos Koza will re-appear in court on 11 January.
