The Standerton Police are embarking on patrols and operations during the festive season.
According to Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, they want to ensure that local residents are safe during the holidays.
“There are 24 police officers who have been deployed to Standerton for the festive season,” he said.
Capt Nhlabathi also said there are young people who are assisting with patrolling.

These patrolmen use the mobile police station in the Central Business District (CBD).
According to him, offences such as theft out of motor vehicles and handbag snatching has decreased since the patrolman began.
The police urged the community to be vigilant.
“Motorists must avoid providing roadside assistance to people who pretend as though they need help, because they might get hijacked.”
“Some thieves use children to lure you into traps,” Nhlabathi said.
