The Standerton Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide after Ms Gugu Tshabalala died in a car accident on 1 January.
According to the police, Ms Tshabalala was travelling in an Audi with three other occupants when the incident occurred.
The car was travelling on the Robertsdrift Road towards the R23 Road.
“It is alleged that Mr Thabo Selepe, who drove the vehicle, failed to stop at the Robertsdrift and R23 intersection,” Capt Fanie Nhlabathi, communications officer of the Standerton Police, said.
“As a result he collided with a VW Golf 5, which was travelling on the R23 Road with five occupants.”
According to the Department of Fire, Rescue and Disaster Management, Mr Prince Gule, VW Golf 5 driver, was trapped in the vehicle after the collision.
The department confirmed that the jaws of life were used to remove him from the vehicle.
All the injured occupants were admitted to the Standerton Hospital.
