Five suspects allegedly planned to murder farmer

They will appear in Bethal Magistrate’s Court on Friday.

HIGHVELD – Members of the Hawks, Secunda Organised Crime Investigation, Saneb , CIG Secunda, eMzinoni detectives and the firearm unit arrested five people between the ages of 33 and 48 for conspiracy to murder.
One suspect was in possession of an unlisenced firearm whose serial numbers were erased.
It is alleged the suspects were staying on a farm and that the farmer later requested them to move from the farm.
The suspects refused and a court order was issued against them.
In 2016 the suspects planned to murder the farmer, who laid a charge against them.
A case was opened and investigation led to the arrest of the five people.
The 33-year-old suspect who was found in possession of the unlisenced firearm that was planned to be used to commit the murder, is appearing in the Vosman Magistrate’s Court today, 12 January and will join the other four in court in Bethal on 13 January to face the charge of conspiracy to murder.
