The Morgenzon Police opened a sexual assault case after a 12-year-old girl alleged that her uncle raped her.
According to the police, the incident allegedly occurred in Rooikoppen.
“The girl told her sister while she was visiting her in Morgenzon,” Const Melumuzi Nzimande, communications officer of the Morgenzon Police, said.
The police confirmed that a doctor examined her. “We opened the case on 9 January, but had to transfer it to the Sakhile Police because the incident occurred in Rooikoppen,” he also said.
According to him, a suspect was arrested on 11 January.
Const Nzimande said the girl will be receiving counselling.
