Mr Rosier de Ville, caucus leader of the DA, formally laid a charge against the municipal manager of the Lekwa Municipality, Mr Linda Tshabalala, at the Standerton Police Station on 9 February.
Mr De Ville, acting on behalf of the party, called on the police to launch an investigation into the conduct of Mr Tshabalala for failing to comply with the constraints posed by the Public Finance Management Act with the responsibilities assigned by the Municipal Systems Act.
“There was no other alternative,” Mr De Ville said.
