SECUNDA – Police are warning residents about a high increase in theft out of motor vehicles during which handbags, cell phones and laptops, among others, are stolen
Capt Bettina Zondo, Secunda Police spokesman, said: “We urge the community to make sure their vehicles are properly locked and not to leave valuables in their vehicles.
“They must also look for a safe spot to park their vehicles.
“When using a remote to lock your car, check your car by trying to open your doors to make sure they are locked.”
Capt Zondo said if motorists press the remote and it does not lock the car, there may be someone trying to block the remote.
“If so, try and park somewhere else for safety sake.”
