Community tip-off leads to arrest

They were in possession of the alleged stolen cables

Kasselman Security Services and the Community Policing Forum (CPF) apprehended two men for allegedly stealing copper cables on 15 February.

The men were apprehended after the CPF received a tip-off from the community.

“We immediately began investigating and discovered that there were copper cables stolen in Ext 8,” Mr Charles Msibi of the CPF said.

According to him, they went to scrap yards and enquired about the people who have sold cables recently.

The information they received led to two men at eSimendeni Section in Sakhile.

Mr Msibi confirmed that they were in possession of the alleged stolen cables.

They were both taken to the Standerton Police Station.
