KINROSS – A woman aged 40 was arrested for allegedly burning her five-year-old niece with a hot iron.
Teachers of the child, who attend a creché in Ext 25, also known as Afhanistan, noticed the burns and alerted the police.
The teachers allegedly said it might not have been the first incident, because the child previously arrived at the creché with minor burns but they did not take them serious.
It was alleged the aunt burned the child and accused her of being rude and not adhering to instructions.
The child was in her aunt, her mother’s older sister’s, care because her mother had neglected her.
The police are investigating.
