The case against the seven Lekwa Municipal employees was postponed to 11 May for trial after they appeared in the Standerton Magistrate’s Court on 14 February.
Mr Bheki Khumalo, Ms Nompumelelo Zimu, Ms Thabsile Manqele, Mr Zakhele Khoza, Mr Dennis Moloi, Mr Samuel Ndaba and Ms Deli Galela are facing charges of intimidation, malicious damage to property and contempt of court.
Mr Linda Tshabalala, Lekwa municipal manager, laid charges against these municipal employees.
The charges are as a result of incidents that occurred early last year.
Lekwa municipal workers embarked on a strike and submitted a memorandum with a list of demands on 10 February last year.
The South African Municipal Workers Union (Samwu) members vowed to continue protesting until their demands were met.
Mr Tshabalala was apparently granted special leave during the strike, while the issues listed on the memorandum were being investigated.
Some of the Samwu members escorted Mr Tshabalala out of the Lekwa municipal building on 4 April (2016) when they found out that he was back at work and the investigation was still ongoing.
The employees apparently disrupted a management meeting earlier that day.
