SECUNDA – Two men were arrested for housebreaking on Wednesday, 8 March.
They were seen trying to break into a house and the neighbours reported it to the police.
The police gave chase and arrested them.
During the investigation, police established that one of the suspects was linked to other crimes.
Capt Bettinah Zondo said housebreaking is still a big problem in the area and said it is mainly because people buy stolen property.
“We have realised that a big factor that contributes to housebreaking, is drugs.
“When people using drugs have no money, they resort to housebreaking and theft.
“We request our community not to buy any stolen items.
“When you see someone selling cell phones, laptops and TVs, please contact the police.”
