A man was allegedly hit by a train when he was crossing the railway on the Meyerville Bridge early on 22 March.
According to the Department of Fire Rescue and Disaster Management, the emergency services informed them about the incident at 7am.
“The man died on the scene and was taken to the state mortuary” Mr John Kock, Department of Fire Rescue and Disaster Management, said.
The Standerton Police, Transnet, Department of Fire Rescue and Disaster Management, emergency services and the forensic pathology services were on the scene.
