Police investigate murder of elderly man

They assaulted Mr Molefe and he sustained injuries to his head

Const Sphiwe Mdlalose of the Sakhile Detectives is investigating a murder case after an elderly man died in his home on 1 April.

Mr Michael Molefe died after he was apparently assaulted in his home in Sakhile.

According to the police, unknown men removed roof tiles to gain entry into the house, while the elderly man was asleep.

They allegedly assaulted Mr Molefe and he sustained injuries to his head.

The elderly man’s helper found him the next day, and called someone for assistance.

Emergency Medical Services personnel later certified Mr Molefe dead.

According to the police, they found Mr Molefe’s belongings scattered upon their arrived.

They also said this was not the first time thieves assaulted and robbed Mr Molefe.

A murder case was opened and no arrests have been made yet.
