Social grants beneficiaries must heed the call
SASSA is doing the review to avoid fraud and corruption within the social grants system.

The South African Social Security Agency (SASSA) asks all social grant beneficiaries not to ignore letters calling them for reviews, urging those who received notices to visit their nearest SASSA offices to avoid the suspension of grants without their knowledge.
Most of these cases were received during the payment monitoring process, where some of the recipients did not get social grants money due to the failure to review. The letters are being sent using registered post based on the information provided by applicants.
Beneficiaries must note that the suspension of a social grant happens after six months of not complying with
the two letters and every recipient must undergo a review to determine the individual’s eligibility at any time when their financial and health circumstances change.
