Residents have been experiencing water cuts in Thistle Grove area for two weeks.
Though they have been lodging complaints with the municipality daily, their efforts to get proper answers were ignored.
The water comes back only in the evening and during the day there is no water.
Sometimes even at night and during the weekend the water is off until they start phoning the municipality call centre and their councillor to get the technical department to switch on the water supply.
Residents said they are disappointment with the municipality for keeping mum instead of letting informing them about what is going on.
Mr Bheki Kubheka, Acting Deputy Director Marketing, Communication and CRM and also the Govan Mbeki Municipality spokesperson, finally responded on Tuesday, 25 April and said they have a problem with the pump in Kinross that keeps tripping.
He further mentioned that residents living in high lying arrears will be affected by low water pressure.
Mr Kubheka added that they are still busy with the procurement processes to fix the electrical issue.
While the municipality is still busy with the procurement processes, residents continue to experience water shortages and it is not known when the problem will be solved.
The municipality also did not say whether there are times allocated for the switching on/off of the water so that residents can make proper arrangements.
