Two alleged armed robbers were shot dead after a shootout with police
Police retaliated and two suspects were shot dead on the scene.

Two men were killed in Warbuton after members of the Secunda Hawks and other units received information of an armed robbery that was planned to take place at the Vlakfontein store.
According to the Hawks spokesperson, Capt Dineo Sekgotodi, the store was kept under surveillance and at about 12:30 four suspects entered and held the two storekeepers at gunpoint. The victims where instructed to lay down on the floor.
One of the suspects noticed the police outside and opened fire. The Police retaliated and two suspects were shot dead.
A 34-year-old man was arrested while attempting to escape and the 34-year-old driver of the getaway vehicle, a Grey Mercedes Benz, was arrested near the scene. A fifth suspect managed to escape but police expect to make an arrest soon.
Three firearms, as well as ammunition and the vehicle were seized.
The identity of the deceased has not yet been released.
Two suspects are expected to appear in the Ermelo Magistrate’s Court on Monday 8 May on charges of business robbery, attempted murder and possession of illegal firearms.
