Motorists are warned to be cautious at stop streets, four-way crossings and robots, as there have been two attempted hijackings thus far this week.
One incident happened during the day when a woman driving alone was approached by two armed men wearing masks at the robot at Ext 22 close to the Sasol Junxion garage.
She saw the men approaching her, realised what was happening and drove away.
The second attempted hijacking happened at a stop street in Nelson Mandela Drive near the Sasol garage at mini Pick n Pay at night.
Three women in a vehicle were also approached by two armed men wearing masks.
Once again the driver realised what was happening and they could get away safely.
No case was opened in either matter.
