Two de-horned rhinos find safe haven at Sasol Secunda

The rhinos were purchased by Sasol in an effort to support the company’s general drive towards the conservation of rhinoceros (often referred to as rhinos) and secondly as a contribution to the company’s game camp biodiversity.

Sasol confirmed on Monday, 15 May that the company had bought two endangered white rhinos.

“Sasol Secunda is the new home to two white rhinos, a male aged seven years and a female aged six years,” said a spokesman.

The rhinos were bought from a private game farm in Limpopo and both animals are in excellent condition.

They have been de-horned as a means to protect them from poachers.
