Former Thuto-Thebe teacher’s case goes to High Court

The charge has now been amended to premeditated murder

The trial of Mr Victor Mdluli is awaiting a decision from the Director of Public Prosecution in Mbombela (Nelspruit) to determine which High Court in Mpumalanga will proceed.

The defendant is being charged with murder and defeating the ends of justice after the murder charge has been amended to premeditated murder.

Mr Mdluli was charged with murder after he allegedly stabbed his girlfriend, Ms Penelope Boikanyo, to death on 2 March following a suspected argument in her home.

Both Mr Mdluli and Ms Boikanyo were teachers at Thuto-Thebe High School.

The accused was granted bail of R3 000.
