Phelophepha Health Care train is in Ermelo

The train provides services in health, oral health, psychology, eye care and medication through its on-board pharmacy as well as basic health education awareness and community counselling workshops.

The Transnet Phelophela health care train is currently operating in Ermelo, providing free health care to residents

of the town.

The train arrived on Sunday, but started offering services on Monday at the Transnet Ermelo train station.

The train boasts 19 fully refurbished and equipped coaches that serve as a simple one-stop clinic.

It provides facilities for health, oral health, psychology, eye care and medication through its on-board pharmacy as well as basic health education awareness and community counselling workshops.

“We are appealing to the community of Ermelo to come in numbers to get assistance regarding their health issues”, said train manager, Anna Mokwena.

Community member Zandile Mnisi raved about the train, saying she got assistance quickly at the oral section as she had no money to go to a dentist and queues at the clinics are long.

The train will be providing free health care until 16 June and community members are urged to arrive early and bring clinic cards, including immunisation cards for children.
