Secunda Spur raises funds for Entobeko Day Care Centre
The centre is run out of a shack, but the staff are caring and dedicated and make a difference in the community.
Oregon Spur recently hosted a Heritage Day fundraiser for Entobeko Day Care Centre.
According to Mr Armand Riekert, the goal was to remind people that it does not matter where you come from, but rather what you do and who you are.
Spur handed over 10 per cent of the profit for the evening to the centre to help cover the cost of caring for children.
Ms Constance Mulaudzi, a driving force behind the fundraiser and the founder of the Women with Purpose organisation, explained that the day care centre is a cause close to her heart and the money will help to alleviate the harsh conditions that the staff and children at the centre have to deal with.
“The centre is run out of a shack, but the staff are caring and dedicated and make a difference in the community.
“I want to support them and take hands with local businesses such as Spur, to help out when we see a need in our community.”
Ms Mulaudzi explained that the idea behind her organisation was to mobilise women to be the feet on the ground and to be aware of the needs of others.
“If we look around us and are aware of the needs of others, we can make a difference.”
