Bishop David Mkhize of the Holy Trinity Church in eMbalenhle hosted a prayer meeting against crime recently.
Police from various stations, including the station commanders, attended the event.
Bishop Mkhize said what prompted him to organise the event, was that officers are working hard to fight crime and they need prayers to stay strong.

Bishop Lucky Mandlazi said it is better to have a good name than a corrupt one.
Other speakers were Evangelist Mpungose and police representatives.
Bishop Mkhize requested the community to work with the police and reminded them the officers are their brothers and sisters who were born and raised in the community.
“There is nothing more painful than witnessing the funeral of a police officer who died on duty,” said the bishop.
He also mentioned that when a police officer shoots at a person, people protest, but when a criminal kills an officer, people keep quiet.
Brig Sifiso Cele said he still believes eMbalenhle can be a place where everyone is happy and willing to live in.
