Lightning strikes palm tree at Fortis Hotel in Evander, tree catches fire

Moderate rain with heavy lightning caused a panic at Fortis Hotel in Evander on Tuesday, 14 November when a palm tree caught fire.

The fire station department was contacted to help extinguish the blazing tree.

The fire did not cause any damage to the hotel and no injuries were reported.
