Sukumani Mdaki, community worker, dies in accident outside Trichardt
Police said it is not yet clear whether the vehicle was travelling towards Seyferfontein or the N17 highway.
Mr Sukumani Mdaki, deputy chairman of the Secunda Cluster Community Policing Forum (CPF) and chairman of the Kinross Clinic committee, died in a car accident on 5 December on the Seyferfontein road outside Trichardt.
According to the police, Mr Mdaki was a passenger when the driver lost control of the vehicle and it overturned at a curve.
Police said it is not yet clear whether the vehicle was travelling towards Seyferfontein or the N17 highway.
Other 10 passengers sustained serious injuries and were admitted to Evander Hospital and Mediclinic Highveld.
A case of culpable homicide was opened.
Police urged motorists to be vigilant while they drive in rain, to avoid accidents.
