Andries needs help to open search and rescue unit
Mr Lee’s dream is to begin a search and rescue unit in Secunda and his first step in this direction is to get the water tank up and running again.
Mr Andries Lee visited Secunda Fire Station on Friday, 2 February to inspect their water tank that can be used for diving demonstrations.
Mr Lee’s dream is to begin a search and rescue unit in Secunda and his first step in this direction is to get the water tank up and running again.
“My plan is to then use the tank for demonstrations and to show children what police divers actually do and what their jobs entails,” said Mr Lee.
He wants to show children how to set up a diving kit and what the divers do when they get to a scene.
Mr Lee will soon begin to paint the tank and seal the leaks.
He needs funding for equipment such as boards, tenders, flotation devices, lifting equipment and ropes, a response vehicle, a compressor on a trailer, a small generator and diving equipment.
