Miriam remembers life as teacher, radio personality and dressmaker

Ms Mudalana Matodzi (84) was the SABC’s first black radio personality.

She grew up in Louis Trichardt and studied for a teaching degree after matric.

She taught English, Venda and Biblical studies at a secondary school and jumped at the opportunity when the SABC was looking for a radio announcer in Louis Trichardt.

She resigned from her teaching job and traveled throughout the Limpopo province as a radio announcer.

She presented 11 programs and worked for Venda Radio for more than five years.
