Most residents are all well aware about the 1% increase in VAT that will take effect on 1 April.

Here is a sample menu of one day with only zero VAT food items

Breakfast:
Soft porridge
Milk
Boiled egg

Snack:
Banana
Mageu

Lunch:
Toasted Brown bread
Pilchards
Green salad

Snack:
Apple

Supper:
Samp
Bean and tomato stew
Spinach
Frozen mixed vegetables

Late night snack:
Home-made popcorn (dried mealies and canola oil)
Glass of milk
