UPDATE at 5.10pm
Govan Mbeki Municipality has confirmed that water supply will be restored by 6pm.
Mr Bheki Kubheka, senior manager in the office of the municipal manager, said the water is flowing through the system and are filling up the reservoirs.
“Water will be opened to the public at 6pm.
“You are requested to open your taps before 6pm for the air to move out of the system so that it doesn’t damage the pipes.
“You can close the taps once the water comes out.”
eMBALENHLE – It is six days later and residents still do not have water.
This came after a major pipe situated in Kinross, supplying water to eMbalenhle, burst on Friday, 9 March.

Govan Mbeki Municipality said it is monitoring the pipe and is now slowly filing the reservoir. Mr Bheki Kubheka, senior manager in the office of the municipal manager, said they are waiting for the reservoir to fill up 30 per cent before they can begin to supply water.
