Some parts of Secunda are still without power

Councillor hopes power will be restored today.

The electricty is still off in some parts of Secunda after a power outage last night, 20 March.

A large area of the town went dark just after 9pm with lots of speculation about the reason for the electricity outage.

Ms Mariaan Chaimberlain, DA councillor, said that cables were damaged near Marietjie School which caused problems at the sub station near the Pick n Pay family store at Driefontein Centre.

Although the electricty returned to the majority of households after 11pm, some living near the sunstation are still affected.

Ms Chamberlain said this morning at about 11am that they hope the matter would be resolved within three hours.
