Carlie Cronje first to complete programme

The Kriel-born woman will be attending a graduation ceremony at Unisa in April.

Ms Carlie Cronje (25) is the first trainee to complete the Gert Sibande TVET College’s lecturers-in-training programme.

The Kriel-born woman will be attending a graduation ceremony at Unisa in April.

The programme began in 2012 to help with the recruitment of TVET College lecturers who can be trained, according to a tailor-made TVET programme, to address the scarce skills need in the country.

Such skills are needed in Technology, Mathematics, Engineering Sciences and Physical Science.The programme has two components, the theoretical, offered by Unisa, and the  practical experience gained during lecturing sessions.
