Donors head to the call for blood and exceed the target
The Teksa branch of the South African National Blood Services collected 196 units of blood. #Newblood
SECUNDA – Local blood donors gave more than blood on Human Rights Day on 21 March, they gave someone else a new chance in life.
The Teksa branch of the South African National Blood Services (SANBS) collected 196 units of blood on that day, which means the total collected from all the clinics in the branch amounts to 46 units more than their set target of 150 units.
This contributed towards the national target of 4 500 units in the SANBS’ #newblood campaign.
South Africans adhered to the call for a national blood drive and the SANBS nationally collected a thousand more units than asked for, namely 5 473 units of blood.
